Ally Week!

I'm an ally. I wear purple on spirit days, and I'm silent on days of silence. I'm not a lesbian, but I sure as hell support the glsen and wear that label proudly. I think that ally week should be every week because they are just as important as the people who actually are in the community. Without allys, the community would lack the support needed for acceptance to make the community at long last, a part of society that truly has a voice.
One of my best friends is gay. It bothers me that he can't get married in certain states, just because he wants to marry a man. People who can get married after not known each other for very long can get married anywhere, but two men who are in love and deserve to get married can't because in some states, that's illegal. It bothers me that people still think that it's cool to say words such as "fag" or use phrases such as "that's so gay". Dude, it's offensive. Whenever I hear those words, I literally want to punch those people in the face. Hate has become an avid part of our society, and I think it's simply stupid. We're faced with prejudices and sterotypes, and some hate those are different than the norm. I think that since we don't know or are afraid of it, we simply hate on it. Hate is stupid, because when we hate, we're closing our minds to change. To change, we need to have an open mind. I think that we need to change, because things are pretty fucked up the way that they are. Sure, we've made progress, but that doesn't mean that there's still more to be made.
I've known people who are self conscious because they think lesbians are wierd, or self conscious, and that's  okay because that's what floats their book. I respect those who have oposing views because I want them to respect my views. We live in a society where I think that we can benefit from more ideas, and more ideas make a brighter future. If I encounter someone who doesn't agree with me, I simply nod, and ask them what made them think the way that they do. There are people on this earth who don't agree with gay marriage and rights, and they suck, in my opinion. To hate on them because they simply view things differently than I do? That's like going down to their level, and fighting a war on hate with hate will only produce hate.
One thing that I would like to address about being an ally is that it doesn't mean that I'm a lesbian. There's nothing wrong with that first of all. Second of all, I feel like people need to get their heads out of their asses and educate themselves on what being an ally really is. We support people who are lesbian, gay, transgenders, and bi. We're the progression, looking to make tomorrow a world that's free for everyone. If you're not an ally, we respect your views too. But don't hate on us, because we're trying to make tomorrow's generation more liberal.

If I Were To Rule the World

With great powers comes great responsibilities. Otherwise, then there could be great consequences. It is similar to when one goes for their license. The ones that speed and text are the ones who are too young to have the freedom to enjoy their car. Becoming a ruler of the world is similar like that. If I were to be a ruler to this world, I would bring about great changes to those living and change the way of life for the greater good forever. Change, especially great change is something that is gradual and is not expected to happen overnight. To make a change more permanent then everyone must be willing to do so; at least the vast majority.
The first and perhaps the most important thing on my list is to have the same rights for everyone, despite their sexual orientation, race or SES (socioeconomic status). A human is a human, despite their decisions, and the way that they choose to live their lives. They have a heart that beats blood through their veins. They have the same autonomy as us. Therefore they should have the rights that are the same as us. Let them get married. Let them have the same opportunities as you. This would change society for the better, simply because then everyone would have the same rights and everyone would get to marry who they want to love. This would make the world more fair, and everyone would at last be more equal.
After gay rights, I would next focus on adolescents. During puberty one tends to feel lonely. Therefore, I would propose every teenager getting a counselor to discuss issues ranging from issues with the opposite sex, and their changing bodies. This I believe to be important because I feel like more and more teens need someone to listen to them, someone whose not a parent, and to be told that they are beautiful inside and out. I would also focus on presenting more positive role models, such as Demi Lovato. By focusing on these issues, and making teens feel like there are people that are there for them that love them can only bring good things, and positive outcomes, which is a change to the way the world is now.
Let's not forget about the animals. Millions of dogs are abandoned each year. If it was up to me, then I would ensure brutal and negative consquences to those who do so. I want every animal to have a home and someone to cuddle with them on a daily basis. They need love too, and their freaking adorable, if I do say so myself. Let's make that statistic to zero, shall we?
I doubt that I'll become queen of the world anytime soon. However, I still can make changes to the greater good of society. Volunteering. Listening. I am one person, and with one person we can start a movement that we can at least work towards a greater goal.

Equality.

Imagine you're in love with someone, and you know that they are the one. They are the one who make you laugh, and make you feel warm and fuzzy inside. They are the one that you want to spend the rest of your life with and believe it or not it's a mutual consensus. You decide to get married.
However there is one problem-your partner and you are the same sex and it's illegal for you to get married.
Same sex marriage is an issue that has been in the news recently. Honestly, I believe that there shouldn't be much of an issue for that. Everyone who is in love, and wants to get married should have that right. It's a human right to get a wedding that you desire, I firmly believe that.
However some people do not believe that, and although we've progressed fairly far in this field, we still have a long way to go. Nine states allow gay marriage. And how many states are in the union?
Some say that it's because the Bible doesn't say that marriage is between a man and a man and a woman and a woman. However, isn't there supposed to be a separation between church and state? We don't allow the Bible to be taught in public schools, so why should we allow it to control our laws?
The bottom line is gay or straight, everyone who wants to have the legal rights of marriage should have them. It bothers me, because there are people who get married for the wrong reasons, heterosexual couples nonetheless can get married, yet the homosexual couple who wants to get married for the right reasons can not. It makes no sense to me whatsoever. Because of this, gay people who are in love are denied the right of making decisions for an incompetent loved one who is no longer able to make a decision on their own. They, although they love each other, can not legally call each other family.
I do believe in God, and the Bible. I believe that God wants gay people the way that they are because that's the way that he made them. Therefore, we can not deny those people that right, because they love who they love. It shouldn't be a debate. It's love.
