LA Day Three; Runyon and a tour with a local!

Hey guys! I'm slowly but surely getting through telling you all about my time in LA, and look foreword to finishing sharing my time there with you sometime next week.
On day three, I spend the morning at an ACP conference to help make the most of social media with my friend Monica. I enjoyed it, because it taught me so much about it, whether it's for my blog or as a college journalist.
Jess and I at breakfast.
After we went to the conference, we were starving so we went to breakfast with some other members of our news staff. We went to a delicious place called the Saddle Ranch. I had a chicken ceaser wrap with sweet potato fries. The manager gave us free mores as well, which were delicious!

The wrap was as good as it looked!

Smores!
Monica and I then hooked up with her friend who lived in LA. She took us to Griffith Park, where we ran into a real news anchor and talked to him. We also got an incredible view of the Hollywood sign!
Hollywood!

After that, we went to Runyon, where we hiked and got some great shots of the scenery. It's hard to believe that we were surrounded by celebrities that lived within miles of each other. However, we didn't seen any celebs, sadly.
Me with the Hollywood Hills in the background.
After our day sightseeing, we went to Starbucks to kill time until we had to see Brian Shelter. After that, we participated in a version of selfie feud, and ordered Chinese Food.

That was Day Three! Day four will be coming up soon! Miss my last installment? Check it out here.

LA Day 2: Universal Studios & First Day of Conferences

Hey everyone! Here's the second day of my LA trip!

Universal Studios
In the morning, we went to breakfast at Universal Studios. Unfortunately, the only place open was Starbucks, but since it's been forever since I've had some, I was excited. (After all, who isn't excited about Starbucks?) Then, we did a little bit of window shopping. Unfortunately, City Walk shops were closed for the most part so we had to go back later.

More City Walk.
Then, I went to an interesting conference about photojournalism. After the conference, I ran to my room, put on my bathing suit, and spent some time by the pool. Since it was so warm, I was enjoying every minute. After all, being from the Northeast, who can say that they were in a pool in Feb.!

Poolside.
After that, we had a keynote speaker-Rory Kennedy. She talked about her new documentary as well as answered the questions of aspiring journalists.
After the keynote, my roomates and I were hungry so we went back to City Walk. This time, everything was open and there were a lot of people around. We first got dinner, which was at a delicious steakhouse. I had chicken tenders, because as a pollotarian, steak isn't an option. To keep it healthy, I had a side salad.

A selfie with my friend Jene!
After that, we went shopping. I unfortunately forgot my wallet, so I was panicking. Luckily, it was on the bed, so crisis averted. We were going to see an Alexz Johnson concert, however, we first decided to take a nap first. I had a hard time waking up, so I ended up staying in.
Overall, my second day was awesome! Come back for day 3!

A Life Update

Hey everyone!
It's been a while since I've done one of these, so I figured today would be as good of a time as any to update you all about what I've been up to lately.

  • I'm going to LA! I'm leaving Wednesday for the ACP journalism conference. I'm so excited because I've never been to California before, and I am looking foreword to the conferences. I'll also be sure to be blogging about it when I get back. In the mean time, I'll be having some lovely people guest posting.
  • School and work on #repeat. Let me tell you it's not easy being green. Things have finally slowed down in my life since I've dropped a class, and for the first time I'm actually really happy with things.
  • I discovered red velvet oreos. That is all.
  • New haircut! I recently went short with my hair. I was looking for a change, and I decided on a whim to cut about five inches off. That's a huge change for me, because I rarely ever trim my hair. I am honestly so happy with my new hair, and I am so glad that I decided to go short. I'm still getting used to having 'medium length hair,' so any styling suggestions are welcome. Let me know what you all think! Also special shout out to Elisia, who held my hand and then listen to me obsess over it.

New haircuts mean multiple selfies right?;)
  • I've been so lucky to have awesome friends in my life, such as Elisia, Griffin, and Gabriel. I've been a hot mess lately, and having them for moral support is always a good thing. I'm realizing how lucky (and rare it is) to have such awesome friends!

  • I'm also actually attempting to make plans and have fun. This is a first since I never make time for my friends other than in breaks and summer. It's important to have fun!
What have you all been up to lately?
