Books and Bracelets

Last week, I was a girl on a mission. I needed to try to locate some of the books I needed to read for my classes. However, I didn't want to buy them nor pay too much money for them. So, my solution, besides trying to find them at work, was to head to a local bookstore called Books and Company.
Books and Company is a bookstore for used books. It also is a haven for other goods, such as beautiful unique jewelry. There's also a little coffee shop, called Legal Grounds, which has amazing coffee and baked good.

So, originally I went in to get some books for my 20th century lit class and my young adult lit class. However, they didn't have any of the books. So I decided to wander around. First, I fell in love with this beautiful handmade bracelet. So, I had a YOLO moment and decided to treat myself. The bracelet was made by some women in India. I thought the colors were very beautiful, and knew I had to have one. Then, my YOLO moment continued as I wandered the stacks. I got the books "One Day" and the "Choice." I'm not sure when I'll have time to read them, but I wanted to get some "fun" books on hand. They both look very good, and when in doubt Nicholas Sparks will always do the trick.

Why Marshall's Is Dangerous

 
I'm a shopaholic, through and through. I always say "This time, I'm really going to save my money." Then I don't. It's usually because I go to TJ Maxx or Marshall's and find some outstanding "I've got to have it" item. Such as the wallet featured above.

That wallet was an impulse buy. Well kind of. I've had my eye on it for a while. I'm a huge fan of the smartphone wallets by Dooney and Bourke. They usually go for $108-118 a piece. Last December I got the one featured below for $59.99 at Marshall's (My cousin had given me a giftcard) However, a few weeks later the one above appeared, and I wanted it more than anything.  But since it was close to $80, I was hesitant.
Finally, a few days ago I decided to get a new power bank. I had one before hand, but it started to not be able to hold a charge longer than one use. So, I went to Marshalls. So, I decided to look around and stumble across the following: soap, macaroons (my favorite), and a t-shirt that I liked. Then, I saw this wallet. It was on clearance. I knew I had to get it or I would regret it instantly. (Once you have that feeling, the deal is closed.) So much for saving my money right.
At the end of the day, I don't regret buying the wallet. But, I do wish I had more willpower to save money.

Confessions of a Shopacholic

Ever have that moment when you go to the mall or a store and think "I only need one thing, and that's it", and then go and end up buying pretty much anything. That happened to me on Saturday. In our state, there are outlet malls which have everything from Coach to Juicy Couture discounted. So, I wanted to get a new smartphone wallet, because my Vera Bradley one was beginning to look dirty.

So, I came across this lovely wallet, for 50 dollars, and since they were giving them half off, I decided that it was a good deal and bought that. And a gift for my mother for mother's day. 

(Top Left-Purse (originally $198; I got it for $53), Top Right-evil eye bracelet ($24, but I got it for $10, and bottom (originally $49 but I got it for $20)

Anyways, after that, I decided to go to Juicy Couture because why not? And they were having a sale. As in a going out of business, everything's on sale kind of sale. So, I bought a purse. And a bunch of bracelets, because I've always loved the bracelets that they have. Especially the J one on the bottom of the pic stitch. 

Overall, I spent way more money than I intended to, and I really don't care. #yolo
