Top Life Lessons From LC

Lauren Conrad is like my idol in case you all didn't already know this. Lately, I've been binge watching "The Hills" whenever I get the time and am almost done with season three. The one thing that I like about Lauren is that she always is right about any given situation. So, here's some of my favorite quotes, brought to you by none other than LC. All images were taken from my Behind the Blog board on Pinterest.
Whenever you feel like you're alone:

Whenever you are in a toxic relationship and can't get yourself to realize it:

LC on 'innocent' bystanders:

Book Review: Infamous by Lauren Conrad/Reading List Update

Yet another book is crossed off of my Summer Reading List. This book is known as "Infamous" by Lauren Conrad.
The book leaves off where the previous "Fame Game" novel left off. Gaby is coming back from rehab, Madison is adjusting to life without flame Trevor, Kate is focused on getting her image on point and Carmen is trying to figure out who is leaking personal information to the tabloids. The book deals with makeovers, and of course drama. (On and off camera)
Over the course of the novel, I've noticed a change in the characters. The biggest one is in Madison. Previously, she was the evil villian of the story, because she did just about anything for fame or personal gain. Now, she does things whether or not the camera is looking or if it buys her more time on the hit show. I also noticed a change in Kate. Orginally, she was the "good" girl who was innocent and naive. However, through out the course of the story, she began to change in order to do what was in her career's best interest. Towards the progress of her book, I felt like she began to lose who she was as a person and an artist.
The book was well written and an easy book to read. It was fast paced, and the way Conrad wrote made it easy to breeze through the pages. Plus, the plot was juicy which made it even easier to breeze through the pages. I really am a fan of the way Conrad writes, especially with the "Fame Game" series. She writes these novels with such insight that makes the voice of the story authentic and real.
Overall, if you've read "The Fame Game" and "Starstruck," you must  check out the final book in the series. Don't you want to know what happens next? I know I did! I'm so happy I finally got a chance to read this book this summer.
So, this also brings us to my reading list update. So far, I've read three books, and plan to hopefully start "I Am Ozzy" soon. (I've had it on my iPad for a while now!) Additionally, I've also read "We Are Liars," by e. Lockhart, "Love Rosie" and "The List." I'm currently reading "P.S. I Still Love You" by Jenny Han, which will eventually be a review posted up within the next week.
How's your summer reading going? Let me know in the comments below!
Reading List Update as of June 29:
Nice Is Just a Place in France by the Betches
The One and Only by Emily Giffin

Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen
The Complete works of William Shakespeare
I Am Ozzy by Ozzy Osbourne

Book Review: Lauren Conrad Style

Lauren Conrad is the ultimate boss. She's a clothing designer, an author and the ultimate role model. How many times during the course of "the Hills" you stopped and thought "I want to be her?" Everyone can relate to her issues on the show, and she came out looking like the nice girl. Chances are, that number is higher than you probably would have liked to admit. At least, I speak for myself anyways. However, what made Lauren Conrad, also known as LC more reliable is her book "Lauren Conrad Style." While many of her reality classmates, such as the Kardashians and Snooki wrote books as well, Lauren Conrad stands out because she managed to do it about what she loved. Fashion.
The book is basically a magazine disguised as a book. There's a chapter for everything from getting down the basics, to getting your makeup on point. I like this book because Lauren never tells someone how to dress, but rather gives you inside tips. This goes from how to pack for a trip to making sure you have the perfect handbag for every occasion.
This book is a must have because let's face it. Who hasn't sat in front of the mirror and wondered what to wear? LC got you covered, girl. I recommend this book for anyone out there whose interested in fashion. I especially recommend this book to those who are fashion bloggers or who want to write about fashion. (I'm interning for College Fashionista this summer and will be using this book for ideas. Check my blog's Facebook for more of my CF posts) No matter what the trends are, this book will always be this season's must have.

Wishlist Wednesday

Lately, it seems like I've been bitten by the shopping bug. As spring approaches, I've been craving brighter clothing and floral patterns. As well as that, I'm just ready for a few new things in my close.
Alex and Ani:In the summer, it seems like I'm always wearing my Alex and Ani bracelets. Since I'm not in a classroom, I don't have to fight with them to write. Also long sleeves make having charmed arms a bit challenging. This summer, I want to add a few additions to my Alex and Ani collection. I want to add the elephant (they are my favorite animal) and the Cinderella one, since lately it's been my obsession. Both of these bracelets I want to add in silver, because all of my gold ones seemed to turn.
iPhone 6:Lately, my phone seemed to be a bit...well not working for lack of better words. I have the 4, and it's starting to show it's age. The camera isn't working as well as it used to, and my battery has been dying quicker than ever before. My upgrade is up in June, and honestly, I'm ready for it. I am planning for the 6, because I figured that not only would it be the better choice, it would last longer. I want the newest, because I know that it will stay current at least for a while. I am debating about getting the gold or the black one, but since I have a few months until I have to decide, I have time. (Also currently saving.)

Lilly Pulitzer...well anything: Lilly has just arrived to Target, and I want to buy everything. Some of my favorites include this tote, which is only $15! I also love her springy tops. I currently have a Illy phone case, and I'm in love with it. I so can't wait to write more.
Lauren Conrad's Minnie Mouse Collection: I loved LC's Cinderella collection (I even own the blue shoe sweater) and am so excited for her to feature my favorite mouse! I definitely will be picking up a few pieces when it comes out in a few weeks.
What's on your wishlist?
*The tote for the Lilly bag is available here.

My Idols.

Hey everyone! I am currently back in CT soil, and getting used to the time difference. I saw this post on Lovely Lyfestyle and I wanted to do it for myself. I decided to write about my celebrity idols, because let's face it, don't we all have them? Who are yours? Let me know in the comments below.

My celebrity idols are Audrey Hepburn, Ozzy Osbourne, and Lauren Conrad.
Lauren Conrad is my celebrity idol, because she's so down to Earth. Unlike other reality stars, she actually made a name for herself. She has three fashion lines, a shelf's worth of best sellers, and she's always dressed to the nines. Plus, she has the best quotes ever. I love her blog, and the way that she relates to her readers.
 Lauren Conrad Career Path
Audrey Hepburn is my other idol, because she's one of the best actresses in all of Hollywood, in my opinion. I love all of her movies, the way that she dresses, and I love how she always gave back. She was so geninune, and a really good actress.
I just love her. She come to mind every time I wear black leggings and flats.
Ozzy is my idol because he is just so talented. I love that Ozzy doesn't do what's normal, and I also love how honest he is. His music is amazing, and I just enjoy listening to him.
Ozzy Osbourne

LC Couldn't Have Said It Better.

One of the best things about summer is that MTV takes to showing reruns of Laguna Beach and The Hills. Both of these shows are deemed to be modern classics, and both of these shows have one thing in common. And what's that? That is the wise and wonderful Lauren Conrad.
Out of all of the reality shows that have come and gone through my generation, The Hills is one of the more classier of casts. Case in point, the star of the show Lauren Conrad. She's always topped the best dressed list, is super classy, and always has the best advice. Here's some of the best Lauren Conrad quotes.

Forgiveness and Stuff

Source
Forgiveness is one of those tricky things that no one knows the right way of doing. Every person on the planet honestly has their own way of forgiving someone. We hear people saying that 'forgiveness is good, forgiveness is healthy.' But, sometimes I wonder about whether or not forgiveness is even a thing that some have the ability to do.
We all can't stay mad at each other forever, and cling onto negative energy until the cows come home. However, I can speak for myself by saying that it's not doing anyone any good by holding onto negative things in your life because let's face it, who wants the negative vibes floating around aimlessly in the air?
But, what about the things that you just can't forgive? I think you do in some stances do. However, you're not about to let that person into your life the way that you were. LC, (pictured above) says it best in "I want to forgive you, and I want to forget you." And that couldn't be more true. There's sometimes when you're not going to want that person in your life, because it's safe to say that it's better with out them in it. #sorrynotsorry. So, you let go of the hard feelings, and the relationship that you were sharing. You realize that it's your pleasure doing everything better without them. It's okay to never be able to let people back into their original positions in your life, because you've gotta take care of you. That drama-queen friend of yours? Yeah, it's time that you get rid of her constant fighting and drama. You don't need that.
At the end of the day, I think that it's important to take the high road, and be the bigger person. But when comes the time to forget them? You can be the judge of that, but if it's something that's trivial then maybe just maybe give them another chance.
#justsaying

Friday Five-Fashion Icons (for me)

Everyone has that one (or two) celebraty that they go to for style advice. For some, it's a designer. For others, it's a famous movie star or musician. For many, (myself include, see below) it's the Duchess of Cambridge. However, everyone pretty much, has a style icon in which they look up to. Each of these women, in my opinion always seem to have it together, and that's what I admire most about them.
My own person style comes from a mixture of all of these people. It's a mixture of hipster, and preppy, something that I very much like indeed. Of course, we can't forget the mountains of Lauren Conrad clothing that I own. Below, is five of my top style icons.
Who are your style icons? Comment below! :D
 Zooey Deschanel/Jess Day:

Spencer Hastings:

Carrie Bradshaw:

(If anyone's looking for a birthday gift for me; a Carrie necklace is an idea!)

Catherine (Kate) Middleton:

(when I get married, I want her dress)

Lunch With LC-TGBL

After a few weeks, I am so excited to be rejoining the TGBL (the Girl Between the Lines Linkup) with Haley at A Beautiful Exchange, and Lauren at The Albrects Blog). This week's prompt was so exciting for me, which was what celebratity, blogger, or public figure that you would like to have lunch with. And just like that, a lightbulb clicked off in my head-Lauren Conrad. Check out her website here.

Source
LC or Lauren Conrad was best known for her appearance on the hit reality shows Laguna Beach, and the Hills. Since then, she's developed two fashion lines (one of which I own pretty much every piece of clothing in), written bestselling novels, (I've read the LA Candy ones, they are so good), and developed a successful website. She's now engaged to William Tell. I guess you can even consider her to be a blogger because she has a blog on her website.
Lauren Conrad is hands down my favorite celebratity. I consider her to be one of my role models, because she's a very classy person. Unlike her co-stars (ahem Spedi), she's not out to get money and fame. She's very laid back, and her style is very chic. I love how simple and classy she dresses, and I sometimes look to her when I'm having fashion brain freezes. I watched the Hills, and Laguna Beach, and she's always going to be my favorite. I especially respect her for leaving the drama of The Hills behind, because it takes guts to do that.
I would love to have have lunch with Lauren because other than the fact that I really want to meet her, I think that I can learn a lot from her. She has the best advice, so I would listen to her wisdom developed from her experiences. I would also ask her for her autograph.. #sorrynotsorry.
What celebraties would you like to meet? Comment below!

Pinterest Planned My Wedding.

Okay, so like most of you all I have a Pinterest account. One of my boards is if I Ever Had A Wedding. So, Mr. Right. I've planned our wedding. Even though I don't even have a boyfriend. But that's okay. A girl's gotta dream right? That, and lots of viewings of those bridal dress shows have gotten me in the mood to discuss weddings. Friday's bride day!
For starters, I'm not walking down the aisle to "Here Comes the Bride." I don't know why, but when I heard the theme of Braveheart...(Yes I know it's a movie that's pretty damn bloody.) I was like that's the theme is what I'm going to walk down the aisle to that song. And ladies and gentlemen, I am walking down the aisle to that.
The next thing that I really wanted to have, like Carrie Bradshaw, is to have blue heels. Or my version of heels, because I would like to have something blue, so that takes care of that. Now to borrow something, to get something old, and something new. I'm a fourth of the way there, folks.

I really want to dress like Catherine Middleton's. However, I would also settle for this dress. I really don't want a fancy dress, because that's not who I am. Since I admire Catherine, and really respect her style. That is why I would like a dress similiar to hers.

beautiful bride.
Speaking of style, I want to talk rings. I mean I'll love whatever my hubby to be gets me. But, if he happens to be reading this, I do happen to really like these. You can just take your pick to whatever fits your price point.

And let's talk cakes. I like cake. And cupcakes. Needless to say, I better be marrying a dude that respects my sweet tooth.
love letters...
Last but not least, I want my bridesmaids to be to be wearing either purple or black. Okay, before you all criticize me for that, hear me out. I actually think black's one of my favorite colors. I think it's classic, and it makes me feel like a complete and total badass.

One thing I don't want my wedding to be is a glamfest. One thing that I don't want to be is bridezilla. However, I'm a girl. It's okay if I think about the fairy tale ending and my prince charming wherever the hell is. In the mean time, enjoy the other things that spark my interest in the wedding field.

2014 Reading Bucket List

Okay, so I've been really into reading ever since I was little. Recently, I rediscovered my nook, and I have decided to use it rather than just let it sit there. So, I've decided to make a list of books that I wanted to read during the year of 2014, and here's the thing; ACTUALLY READ THEM.

  • Staying Strong by Demi Lovato. Okay, let me say that Demi is my homegirl. But her book is awesome. I just downloaded it yesterday, and the book is talking about staying strong everyday of the year. My goal with this book is to (starting on January 1st) read it everyday and embrace some of her positive energy. I think that being positive is the first step to making something really and truly great.
  • The rest of the Pretty Little Liars books. My friend Alessia got me hooked on these books, and I read the first two within days. I can't wait to read the rest, because they are so intense. You literally can't put the books down, so I really want to finish the books. And then watch the show.
  • The Fame Game series by Lauren Conrad. I love Lauren Conrad in general, and her books are awesome. I've read L.A. Candy, Sweet Little Lies, and Sugar and Spice over the summer. Now that I heard that she has more books out, I want to read those as well.
  • An Abundance of Katherines by John Green. Okay, so John Green is amazing. I really want to read this book, because it looks really interesting. I mean a guy that only dates girls named Katherine? Come on. That's pretty interesting.
  • Looking for Alaska by John Green. I really like John Green's books, and I really want to get around to finishing them all this year. I honestly don't know what this book is about, but I'm looking foreward to reading it.
  • The One and Only by Emily Giffin. Emily Giffin is one of my favorite authors. My favorite book of all time is Something Borrowed. This is the only book by her that I haven't read by her, so I am expecting that this book will be really good.
  • Dreamland, Keeping the Moon, The Moon and More and The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen. Sarah Dessen is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors too. I'm lucky that the library that I work at has them. I really like her books because they remind me of summer. Like the others, I can't put them down as well.
  • Blog Inc. Blogging for Passion, Profit, and to Create Community. I saw this while reading a few of Rachel from Sunshine and Sinatra's old blog entries, and I feel like as a blogger, that might be something that I should read to give my blog a bigger mark in the blogger world.
Okay, so it looks like I'm going to be doing a lot of reading in this new year! What is on your reading bucket list?
(the images have been provided to you by google images. Thank you google)
