On Friday, a tragedy occurred in my area. Maren Sanchez, a teen that went to a high school in my area was stabbed, and many of her peers believe that it was because she turned someone down to be her prom date.
When I heard this, I was sick to my stomach. How could someone simply stab someone simply because they said no? Were they that upset, because just because someone rejected you doesn't mean that you have the right to stab them. It makes me sick to my stomach to hear this, and my heart goes out to Maren's family and friends. Until this happened, I didn't know who she was, or anything. But, now that I've heard about her, I know that she didn't deserve to die this way. My heart goes out to all of her classmates, who now have to cope with grief, and loss.
Rest in peace, Maren. I hope prom up in heaven is awesome, and your dress is purple and beautiful.
