So, I Joined the 21st Century..

Last week, I had a giant paper to print. So, being the procrastinator that I totally am not I decided to do it the morning that it was due. However, the blue screen of death came on my '08 laptop. Needless to say, everything was going a bit like Carrie Bradshaw when her computer went down.
However, after a chance moment, my computer decided to turn itself on and work again. But, something didn't feel right, so I called tech support. They told me, after congratulating me for having the computer for as long as I did, that it was time to say goodbye to my dinosaur era technology. My hard drive blew, and my motherboard wasn't too far behind it. So, needless to say, I knew that it was time to let go.
A few hours later, after getting my most important documents off onto my flash drive, I began shopping for a brand new computer. Let me tell you, going from the days of Windows Vista, to what they have off now is very confusing. I wasn't even sure of what kind of computer that I wanted to get. However, since I had an iPhone, iPod, and most recently an iPad I kinda wanted to get a computer from apple.
So, I logged onto apple with my iPad...how ironic. After looking around, I decided to settle for the MacBook Pro. With my education discount, I got a really decent deal on my computer. So, I went to my Apple store, and took the plunge.
When I first got it, the first thing that I noticed was how light the computer was. My former computer, which now resides in a box in the garage until I can figure out how to get rid of it, was maybe double the weight of my current one. The next was the improved battery life. Compared to my PC, my mac can go for days without a charge. I am excited about that, because I am so used to having to have a plug to do my computing. Now, I can go around my house, and even outside of it. I also noticed that it was really fast. Going from a computer from the 00's, obviously things are going to be different. However, I didn't think it was going to be this fast. I don't have to wait for my computer to load. I can just go from there.
Overall, I love my new computer. I am pleased to say that this is my first blog entry that is written on my mac and it's great. I am still getting used to everything on it, but overall Apple you were great and I am so glad, that my computer crashed.

  1. Good Luck with the new MAC- and in your already matched tech components! Hope the due paper situation turned out ok too!

  2. I switched to Mac from old PCs a few years ago and I love it! My favorite part, besides the quickness, is the 4 finger swipe up and down to move between windows (for schools I tend to have internet and word and pdfs open all at once)! It took me a few days to adjust at first, but you'll love it!

  3. OOH! I just got a Mac too! I have the MacBook Pro. What one did you get? My old Toshiba died. I'm still getting used to it too. How's your battery? I charge up every few days. The only thing I haven't quite figured out 100% is Pages. Congratulations!!

  4. I have the pro, without retina. LOL, I'm glad that I'm not the only one. It's pretty good. I charge it maybe once every three or four days. And thanks. I don't use pages actually, because I use Microsoft word.
