Here Comes the Barely Legal Bride?!

When you think of 20 going on 21, you think of exploration. You're just about to be able to legally drink, and next year you'll be a Taylor Swift single. (I don't know about you, but I sure as hell am feeling 22) You'll graduate college, usually, and start your "big girl" full time job. Some move out, while others move around. But, is this the time to think of another committment-marriage?
Yesterday, while on Facebook I saw a status of a friend of my ex-boyfriend's. She was going to get married in three or so hours. And while I knew she was engaged, this came as a bit of a shock. She was about my age, and she was already put together enough to get married? Like how is that possible?
I can barely remember to put the car in park...much less get ready to become a...wife. I want to be done wearing the graduation gown before even thinking about the wedding gown.
Before I continue, let me say this. I'm not opposed to marriage whatsoever. I think it's a good thing when two people get together and decide they love each other enough to be married. Maybe one day, I'll end married myself. However, I think that getting married before 25 is well weird and "too young to fall in love." (Thanks Motley Crue.) Even though the Duggars may think it's a good idea...actually wait don't listen to the Duggars..
Looking at her status (and stalking through her engagement photos), made me realize something. In the next few years, my timelines will be filled with photos of rings, couples looking to get married and of course many from the actual big day. Then there will be babies and all of that family stuff.
While that's cool, I'm not ready to get married. To get into a relationship, yes. But, I want to graduate college. I want to get my master's in Digital Journalism. I want to work. I want to fall in love like the way one falls asleep. I want to go to Italy, and travel the world. I want to learn languages, and I want to write novels that my grandkids will be reading in their classrooms. I want to be something other than someone else's partner or wife.  I don't want to plan ahead for my marriage. I simply want to live each day with love and without expectation.
I still have a long way to go. However, when the time is right rest be assured. I'll rock the veil like no one's business.

#inspirationmovement-Words Are Like Weapons, They Wound Sometimes

Sometimes, people just suck. To put simply that is. When there’s no explanation for why they do, these people exist simply for the reason to bring you down. They don’t care how they do it, along as the deed is done they simply don’t care. Sometimes, there’s reasons why they do it. Whether it’s that bully on the playground whose taking out their inner angst about their home life on you, or that mean girl who clearly wanted to bring you down because they are jealous or insecure. Bullying exists in many ways, and in many forums. Since the development of the internet, its expanded to even there. Now, those who wish to have an escape to have no way of escaping. It’s everywhere, and it’s something that needs to be stopped.
Raise your hand if you’ve ever been bullied. How many of you have also felt like that there’s no way out? How many of you dreaded going to school because you were scared of what you were going to face? Bullying is something that is a real issue. Statistics show 42 percent of Americans have been bullied. I think that number should be zero.
I think that bullying is something that really should be illegal. I think that anyone who makes someone feel bad about themselves should consider themselves to be a criminal. It’s something that needs to be stopped. I wish there was a society where there would be none of this going on. I wish that words were something that were exchanged like a token and a gift, not as swords and guns. But this exists.
I dedicate this entry to the people who are being bullied every time that they log into the computer. I dedicate this entry to the person who is struggling to find out who he really is, because they want to please a bunch of bigots. I dedicate this entry to the girl who wants to wear something different, but doesn’t because she feels like she’s going to be ridiculed. For those who feel like you have no one to sit there and listen to your story.
Well, that’s going to change. Sorry mean girls. Sorry everyone who uses the word ‘fag’ and ‘gay’ like its something that means nothing. Cause for all of those people who feel like they don’t have a voice, well now you do. If you need someone to talk to, you can email me. If you need a friend, you can contact me.

And you have a voice I promise.

Pledge.

Words can hurt. Sometimes, they can hurt more then fists and weapons. They can damage spirits, and cause others to do things. Never assume what you say can get back to you, or hurt the person in a way that you don't mean. Why? Because sometimes, the words you say can be taken the wrong way.
So, I've decided to help stop this word war if you will. I realized that the words I say can get back to those who I talk about. And that they can hurt. So, I've decided to do something about it, to cause one less person to be hurt.
I pledge to not talk about people; friends, family, strangers, you get the picture. I pledge not to call them derogatory words such as 'slut', 'bitch', and 'whore.' I'm tired of polluting the world with negativity, and plan to try my best to weed out the words that hurt. I want to spread love not hate.
Whose with me?
