Cool For the Summer

I don't know about you all, but things are really beginning to heat up. Temperatures are soaring in the 90's and early 100s and this week there's a possible heat wave. As the temperatures rise, the question about what to wear remains as the desire to be fashionable is second priority and to remain cool becomes the most important one. However, what if you can combine the two needs and get the best of both worlds?
Impossible you say?
However, it can be done. The answer is simple--sundresses. Sundresses come in all different kinds of styles and a rainbow's selection of colors. Needless to say, there's a sundress out there for just about everyone. I only have a few, but for the past few days in the effort to stay cool I've been bringing them out in the effort to stay cool.
Needless to say, I've been wearing them pretty much everyday this week. I pair a cotton sundress and pair them with a pair of flip flops. And tada! I have an outfit for pretty much everything I need to do for the day-whether it's work or hanging out with a friend!
Overall, if you're looking for some ideas for carefree style look no further. The sundress has all you're looking for!

Dooney and Bourke pouchette in Mint and Black:
I'm a huge fan of the wristlet game, and since I don't have to carry a heavy bag everywhere I go I typically take a wristlet everywhere but work. However, now that I have car keys I can't just carry a wristlet everywhere. So, the pouchette comes in because it can fit my wallet, car keys and my lip balm. The mint has been my favorite color as of late, however I would get one in that color as well as black. (Black is a basic color, but for now I'm just getting the mint.)

LC Lauren Conrad Minnie Mouse T-Shirt:
I'm in love with the new Lauren Conrad collection! I love the t-shirt collections, because they are cute and fun. And of course, Lauren Conrad does it right. I can't wait to head to Kohl's to get one!

Currently.

Currently, my life is a mix of writing a lot of final papers and getting ready to finally enjoy the summer. (It's going to be weird not having a bunch of things going on, but that I can get used to.) I also plan to spend the summer interning at the College Fashionista website, which is something that I am so excited to announce with you all! I start May 18th, and I'm so excited to have this opportunity. I've never written for a blog before (other than my own) so this experience will be so great. (Plus it's something that I can learn a lot from!)

So here's what's up with me lately:

I'm currently listening to: Forever by Drake, Sechnsuct by Rammstein, and Style by Taylor Swift on repeat. 

I'm currently reading "The Lucy Variations." I love Sara Zarr, however I wish I had more time to read it! 

I'm currently obsessed with the color blue. Particially Tiffany Blue. 

I'm also currently obsessed with LC Lauren Conrad. I recently bought some costume jewelry pieces as well as some from her Cinderella collection! (Maybe I'll do a fashion post about her upcoming Minnie Mouse collection; what do you think?) 

I'm currently obsessed with iced coffee. I used to hate it, and now I can't get enough! (Especially the cookie dough kind)

Wishlist Wednesday

Lately, it seems like I've been bitten by the shopping bug. As spring approaches, I've been craving brighter clothing and floral patterns. As well as that, I'm just ready for a few new things in my close.

Alex and Ani:In the summer, it seems like I'm always wearing my Alex and Ani bracelets. Since I'm not in a classroom, I don't have to fight with them to write. Also long sleeves make having charmed arms a bit challenging. This summer, I want to add a few additions to my Alex and Ani collection. I want to add the elephant (they are my favorite animal) and the Cinderella one, since lately it's been my obsession. Both of these bracelets I want to add in silver, because all of my gold ones seemed to turn.

iPhone 6:Lately, my phone seemed to be a bit...well not working for lack of better words. I have the 4, and it's starting to show it's age. The camera isn't working as well as it used to, and my battery has been dying quicker than ever before. My upgrade is up in June, and honestly, I'm ready for it. I am planning for the 6, because I figured that not only would it be the better choice, it would last longer. I want the newest, because I know that it will stay current at least for a while. I am debating about getting the gold or the black one, but since I have a few months until I have to decide, I have time. (Also currently saving.)
 
Lilly Pulitzer...well anything: Lilly has just arrived to Target, and I want to buy everything. Some of my favorites include this tote, which is only $15! I also love her springy tops. I currently have a Illy phone case, and I'm in love with it. I so can't wait to write more. 
Lauren Conrad's Minnie Mouse Collection: I loved LC's Cinderella collection (I even own the blue shoe sweater) and am so excited for her to feature my favorite mouse! I definitely will be picking up a few pieces when it comes out in a few weeks.

Spring Essentials

Spring is my favorite season because everything seems to become out of hiding and everything is in bloom. All of our past mistakes simply seem to melt away, igniting a new change in the way that only comes once a year. We all can smell it, the way that it changes in the air, and the way that everything seems better in the spring.
One of the things that I've been doing a lot in honor of spring is shopping. Here are some of my newest buys for spring.
Dooney and Bourke Floral Shopper, QVC Dooney and Bourke is one of my favorite brands of purses of all time. I am a huge fan of their shopper bags, because it fits everything and the kitchen sink. This is my second one. The first one that I own is a black one. However, as the weather became brighter and the days have become brighter, I decided to treat myself to getting one of their floral shopper bags. As soon as I got it, I fell in love with it. The bag itself costs $135, however, thanks to a little thing called Easy Pay, I was able to get it home, and pay it off over time.

Fifth and Mae: I recently reordered a second order of Fifth and Mae. A pair of Mint Green studs, and a Cali state necklace. I am  so happy with them, and they, as always, have such great quality. They have such fast shipping, and they really brighten up every outfit.

Rose Gold: I've been such a huge fan of rose gold whether it's bracelets, or a watch. They always shine and brighten up an outfit. My favorite? This Alex and Ani bangle!

"I Woke Up Like This" (Not A Fashion Blog Post)

I am not a fashion blogger by any means, but I am like your average college student. I have zero to no time between my jobs, schoolwork, and trying to stay sane and have somewhat of a social life. Therefore, I can't (and don't) have the time to spend constantly picking out well out together outfits. However, I still manage to put together reasonably well outfits on a daily basis in under ten minutes. Here's my tips on 'how to look more polished when in reality I just woke up like this.'
Jeans:
As a college student, it's so easy to throw on a pair of leggings and a comfy sweatshirt when going to class. However, we often leave out jeans as being an acceptable part of one's wardrobe. They are mostly comfortable, and inexpensive. Pairing jeans at least with a sweatshirt makes the outfit a tad bit more polished then sweatpants or leggings. I'm a huge fan of the jogging, which looks like jeans, but in reality they are soft and super comfortable on the inside.
Having a key shoe: 
I am a huge fan of leather boots for fall. Whenever I wear leggings, I often pair them with leather boots. Pairing them with a good shoe often makes the outfit feel more put together than simply wearing sneakers with your leggings. Often, my boots look really awesome and put together with the leggings.
Jewelry:
In my opinion, jewelry is awesome. Wearing jewelry is something that gives a plain outfit a little extra 'oomph' when you're trying to get ready. Anything from a pair of simple stud earrings (pearl earrings are a classic) to a watch jewelry can really spice up an outfit.
