Pearls Are A Girl's Best Friend

Source
Move over, diamonds. There's another classic in town. And that my friend is pearls.
I've worn pearl earrings since I was in seventh grade. My mom bought them for me as a Christmas gift, and they've been the perfect addition to several of my outfits. However, nowadays, my love for pearls has grown, which expanded my collection. In addition to my mom's gift, I now own at least four pairs of earrings (in a wide range of colors) as well as bracelets that I've either made or purchased.
Pearls go with everything. One of the things that I really like about them was that they were timeless. In my opinion, buying something with pearls in it is really a true investment. You'll be wearing them for years, as I clearly said in my example earlier.
Many people often compare them to Audrey's necklace in 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'. Although the necklace is beautiful to say the least, it's a little too much for everyday wear if you ask me. My way of wearing this classic is simple. Either a pair of studs to add some class to an outfit, or a little dainty bracelet. With pearls, a little goes a long way.
Some of my favorites? The lovely and affordable QVC-they have a wonderful pearl bracelet available for $17! Plus, in some of the colors are perfect for summer. Or, of course the simple white?
And of course, you can't go wrong with the simple pearl stud earring. Get one in white, and I guarantee that you'll have a piece that lasts for years to come.

My Tiffany's.

In the movie 'Breakfast at Tiffany's', Audrey says that there is no place like Tiffany's because that's the place to go to whenever you have the mean reds.  Nothing bad happens at Tiffany's.
A bracelet that I had purchased a while back from Dava.
My Tiffany's is a bit different than Audrey's. It's a little small business called Dava. If you're ever in the New Haven area, you should really check it out. Dava sells a lot of some of my favorite things-chocolate, rings, other jewelry besides rings and other small goods. Whenever I am upset I go to Dava and purchase something whether it's a new bracelet, ring and with a side of chocolate. My blues will go away in an instant. Or at least I have a shiny things to make me smile.
It may not be Tiffany's but the jewelry is even more pretty and unique. I've gotten my favorite necklace from there, in addition to a ton of my favorite rings. Their quality is amazing, and the people who work there are easy to work with. They are so happy to help you find exactly what you want, and you leave with a smile a mile wide.
That's my Tiffany's.

I Blame Carrie Bradshaw

I have a thing for initial jewelry. Something about having something made just for you makes me so excited because my necklace is unique. Personally, I blame Carrie Brashaw with her name 'Carrie' necklace which is extremely popular for all of you Sex and the City fans, myself included. I've always wanted a "Natalie" necklace, but since I didn't want to spend all of the money towards it, always was hesitant. I had always wanted an intial necklace, but the only one I liked was the Dogeared one, which was way out of my budget, and I could never find my intial at TJ Maxx.
However, when I saw this necklace at Fifth & Mae I knew that I had  to have it. It was small, dainty, and pretty. So, I took a plunge and bought it. And I'm so glad that I did.
Fifth and Mae, for those of you who don't know, is a site that sells high quality jewelry for low prices. I like the latter part, because I'm a broke college student. So, being the jewelry freak that I am I decided to treat myself and buy their initial necklace.
The necklace comes in gold, rosetone, and silver. I chose silver because I am a silver kind of gal. I got my order about a week after ordering, which was expected because intials tend to take a longer time to ship.
I am so impressed with the quality of the necklace and blown away with how pretty is. When I unwrapped it I literally fell in love with it and put it on right away. And of course, I felt like Carrie Bradshaw.
The bottom line? Fifth & Mae is great because its affordable and wonderful. I am definately coming back for a pair of cute earrings and the be brave bracelet. So, for all of you college gals looking for some shiny new baubles for less, give Fifth & Mae a try.

Things I Love Thursday-Hamsa Necklace

Look familiar?  Check out the post here!
If you know me personally, you know that I wear a hamsa necklace pretty much everyday. I got one when I was a freshman in college, and I have worn it every since then. I own two now, (pictured above), in addition to a lot of necklaces.
Why do I wear the hamsa symbol?
I wear this symbol because it wards off evil vibes and spirits. The symbol is a palm shaped charm and is a sign of luck and protecttion against the evil eye.
Many people often wonder where I got mine from. The first is from QVC. Unfornately, when I got it it was on clearance. However, there is a wide selection of them. The second is Dava, which is a local jewelry shop in my town.
I highly reccomend this necklace, because it's a great symbol, it comes in many styles, and a little luck on your side will never hurt anyone!

Hey guys, I also guest posted for Emma's blog. Check it out here.

Things I Love Thursday-"Love Life and Life Will Love You Back."

think happy be happy bracelet and love life and life will love you back bracelet
One of the awesome things about jewelry is that you can make it extremely personal and motivational. So, ready for story time? I thought so.
Over the past year, I went through a lot of personal things regarding self esteem, changing my path in life, and of course the stresses of family, friends, school, and work. Needless to say, I was in a place where I wasn't so hot. So, I decided to get a little reminder to remind me that not everything is going to be negative, and that things do happen for a reason.
So, one day I came accross this bracelet. And I knew that I had to have it. However, at the time, the shop BePositive was just being set up, and only offered the "Think Happy, Be Happy" bracelet. So, I messaged the shop owner, whose name is Olivia to talk about getting the one that I currently own. (Pictured above.) She was extremely helpful, and helped me get the bracelet that I wanted.
However, disaster struck when the post office lost my bracelet. I then contacted Olivia, who then kindly resent it in better packaging.
The bracelet came last Friday, and I've been in love with it ever since. The bracelet is shiny stainless steel and is six and a half inches, but it can be expanded. I have a seven inch wrist, so it fit me rather comfortably. It's really good quality, and it's perfect for layering other bracelets, and having that whole #armcandy thing going on.
I decided to make this a "Things I Love Thursday", because of the great customer service that I got with Olivia, and because her bracelet is awesome. I definitely will be buying more jewelry from her!

"Don't Be Fooled By the Rocks That I Got"

One of my favorite things in the world is jewelry. I make it, I buy way too much of it, and I look at tons  of posts about it on Instagram, Pinterest and Tumblr. (I'm on that #armcandy flow, yo.) However, there's some of it that's a cut above the rest. Here's some of the pieces that I can't help but rock.

Hamza/Evil Eye; For those of you who don't know what a hamza or an evil eye is, right not you're going to wish that you did. The Hamza, and the evil eye are pieces that are made that ward away evil spirits. I prefer the hamza, because the Evil Eye basically scares me. I wear my Hamza necklace pretty much, but I also have a few bracelets.

Opal; Dear future husband, if you ever need an idea for an engagement ring, get me an Opal. I love how opals are mysterious and cool looking. Sometimes, I wish that I was born in October just so I can wear the stone without shame. I also am a fan of blue opal which is basically the same thing, just blue.

Alex and Ani; Everyone and their mama seem to have these bracelets. But, the cool thing is that no matter how many you have stacked on your arm, it's still something that's tailored to your individual taste. I also like it that each bracelet has a separate meaning for you. Check out another Alex and Ani post here! I have 13 currently, however only 10 of them are pictured.

Pearls
Pearls are classy. That is all.
Pandora
Until recently, I've never taken my Pandora bracelet off. I've gotten mine for my 13th birthday, and I've kept it on  ever since. Each of the charms is something that is meaningful, because they were all holiday and birthday gifts. Unfortunately, the clasp broke earlier on, and I have yet to replace it.
Claddaugh Ring

Even though I'm not Irish, I love them. I currently have five (the latest pictured above.) The Claddaugh has three parts-hands, a heart, and a crown. It's used to display Marital status, so if the crown is facing towards me as seen here, then it means that I'm single, and if it's the other way around it means that my heart belongs to someone. The hands symbolize friendship, the heart symbolize love, and the crown symbolizes loyalty. More information about the ring can be found here!
Rings In General;
I just love wearing multiple rings. They tend to change over time, but my favorite way to wear one is on my thumb.
Return to Tiffanyâ„¢ heart tag in silver with enamel finish on a bracelet, medium.
(Dream Tiffany Bracelet; $375)

(What I own from Kohls; $250 regular price)
Heart Toggle Bracelets:
I only recently got into it. I wanted a Tiffany one, but they are super expensive. I have the Kohl's one and I'm in love with it. It's small and it doesn't get in the way when I'm at school. It's really well made, and it came really fast. I like these bracelets because they are very cute. I also have a smaller one from Juicy, which has a ton of really cute ones for less than $50.

What's your favorite kind of jewelry?
